Big thing to avoid shower moisture is to make sure a proper shower fan is in place w/ proper venting. Also, a timer switch or moisture controlled switch, so you can remove all the moisture in air after the shower.

I think most would not use backer if you are away from the shower or bath. You could do the Redgard on regular drywall. Do not use flat bottom gables with scissor trusses. 1 - 9 of 9 Posts.
